The University of Warwick, one of the UK’s leading universities, has expanded its existing ONELAN Digital Signage installation to display vital Covid information across its students’ halls of residence. This makes it one of the largest deployments of signage within a UK University.
Having recognized the importance of communication during these rapidly changing times, installing signage screens in key locations, such as in the post room, to display the most up to date guidance to help students feel safe and informed became one of the University’s highest priorities as they welcomed students onto campus.
Not only can the signage display the latest local Covid restrictions, it can also display student events and activities, plus live data feeds such as weather and local transport updates. With content updated centrally from a single CMS, the residences team no longer need to rely on distributing paper-based notices to communicate vital information to students, saving valuable time and resources. Students also feel more engaged, which in turn helps to support their overall mental well-being.
“With local and national guidelines continuing to evolve and change, it’s vital we keep our students and staff safe and informed. Deploying centrally managed dynamic digital signage at key locations throughout halls of residence means we can keep students aware of the latest protocols.” commented Andrew Maddison Senior Audio-Visual Technician, University of Warwick.
Tim Hoddy, Director of Sales Western Europe added, “We were delighted to be able to support The University of Warwick with this deployment during a time where student welfare is more critical than ever. Priorities have very much shifted this year, and we’re pleased to see how our leading technologies are being used to help keep students safe while away from home.”
