Global Monitoring & Reporting (GMR) support for LG WebOS 4.0 & 4.1 players telemetry data.
GMR support for Media Audit Data.
WebOS 6.0 support for devices using the approved firmware.
Bug Fixes:
Cannot upload files to CMS when using any upload forms.
SoC app install results in failure & losing connectivity to players.
When uninstalling an NTB and then looking at support contract*.csv file after uninstalling, the version changes to 1.0.0.
GMR – Warning ‘telemetry_error’ overrides any error level ‘telemetry_error’ alarms.
GMR – After an LG SoC player reconnects to CMS, no new data is reported until a reboot is performed.
GMR – LG SoC is not reporting data collected during the disconnection period on the GMR dashboard after it reconnects to the network.
GMR – Once cache memory limit is hit, warning messages spam the logs once every 30 seconds.
GMR – Data collection & reporting stops if a player loses connectivity to CMS & is rebooted.
GMR – Unable to override ‘configVersion’ value from the ‘telemetry-configuration.json’ file.
GMR – Continues to collect & attempts to report data in the event players pick up an invalid config file containing a bad events-hub connection string.
GMR – There is no associated event for the ‘ram_total’ data point meaning that it’s not possible for this to be reported on change.
GMR – Setting ‘telemetry_enabled’ to false during run time results in ‘this.toggleListeningPeriodicEvents is not a function’ error.
GMR – WebOS 4.0 and 4.1 are not raising the expected error alarm when the JSON file is invalid.
GMR – Changing player timezone doesn’t reflect in reported periodic GMR data & continues to report originally set timezone.
GMR – Performance degrades the longer players are left running with a telemetry configuration & various telemetry SDK failure alarms being raised.
GMR – In the event of network loss, telemetry SDK refuses to store data entries without any useful errors in SoC player logs.
GMR – Alarm no longer being raised in event of JSON parsing error for ‘telemetry-configuration.json’ file & error message in logs not helpful.
GMR – ‘external_input_list’ data point is not being reported on boot up.
GMR – ‘Storage_info’ data point doesn’t report on change.
GMR – External input data point is reporting incorrect ‘signalDetection’ values on connection/disconnection events.
GMR – Removing a datapoint causes GMRHandler storage information to spam the logs.
GMR – ‘Storage used’ & ‘Storage total’ get reported at the same time to Azure server.
GMR – ‘Ram used’ & ‘Ram total’ get reported at the same time to Azure server.
GMR – When uploading an invalid file and replacing the SoC appears to be caching the invalid config.
GMR – Alarms are not user-friendly if the Connection_String parameter is invalid.
GMR – Random empty ‘{}’ entries are being reported for the HDMI data point.
GMR – Proof of play data is being gathered fine but not appearing on Azure server.
GMR – Having no ‘telemetry-configuration.json’ file present results in errors & exceptions appearing in player logs for WebOS 4.0 & WebOS 4.1 players.
GMR – Updating ‘telemetry-configuration.json’ file while running results in periodic data point gathering to break.
GMR – Events are still triggering when you don’t have a config.
GMR – The SoC app randomly exits from the player after having GMR enabled for around a week & requesting a support snapshot.
GMR – Disabling a data point continues to report.
GMR – Multiple values being reported for device total usage data point.
GMR – Temperature data point doesn’t return a value.
GMR – HDMI source connection/disconnection does not trigger data point to be reported to telemetry SDK.
GMR – SoC players use volatile storage to hold data – persistence.
GMR – Changing player timezone results in misleading & invalid proof of play values being reported for ‘Start Time’ & ‘Duration’ fields.
GMR – Telemetry code is running on unsupported SoC platforms resulting In various errors flooding SoC player logs.
GMR – Spam log entries flooding the logs & resulting in requests for remote support snapshots failing.
GMRHandler: Media audit format breaks SDK integration.
WebOS 6.0 – Switching between HDMI sources resulted in misleading HDMI connection events being raised for all HDMI ports.
WebOS 6.0 – HMDI connection/disconnection events – No connection or disconnection events occur in action history when plugging HDMI sources.
WebOS 6.0 – Certain video formats either do not play or playback is broken on WebOS 6.0.
WebOS 6.0 – Movie player on WebOS 6.0 playback is broken when using rendezvous points in the playlist.
WebOS 6.0 – Source switching has a delay when switching to HDMI 1 & 2 and switching to HDMI 3 will just present a black screen.
WebOS 6.0 – 5-minute watchdog/monitoring service doesn’t work on LG WebOS 6.0 players.
SoC Media Audit – Player creates zero duration entries every 100ms.
Watchdog Service – Exiting the SoC app for only 10-15 seconds results in the player entering a SoC app restart loop.

CMS-update361-V3.7.0-213061.opf
d84056738de3780e3d1a87e2c3c4f718 (md5)
New Features:
CMS:
New configurable timer for the ‘Player not seen’ alarm available on the CMS Player Manager which can be set to a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 12 hours.
Added the ability to generate unique URLs for each player based on PLI Key Value pairs. The PLI keys are selected during content creation and values get added to compute final URL by players during playback. This allows users to have a single URL yet display content specific to each display by enabling differentiation at third party content server. This feature will be available only on SoC for now and will be added to NTBs in a future release.
SoC:
Append PLI values configured on SoC players as URL query parameters for configured External Web Page playlist items.
4K videos are now supported on LG webOS 4.0 and 4.1 platform only. For gapless playback using 4K videos, please refer to SoC content authoring guidelines.
Current time and timezone are now displayed on SoC On Screen Diagnostics.
Improvements:
SOC:
Improvement to ‘CMS Connection’ property on the OSD view to include a date/time stamp of when a player last connected to the CMS or disconnected from the CMS.
Improvement where SoC players now notify the CMS Player Manager by raising a download alarm in Amber to indicate a Channel is being downloaded by a SoC player. The alarm is later lowered and shown in Green once the Channel download is complete.
Third Party Platform Limitations:
Wi-Fi on SoC: We are aware of an issue impacting stability on LG SoC players when connecting via Wi-Fi. We are working with LG to identify the root cause and resolve this issue. In the meantime, please utilise ethernet for LG SoC devices wherever possible.
