Third Party platform Limitations

Some features are not supported on all platforms due to underlying third party platform limitations.

  • Apps or HTML pages published from the CMS can cause performance or storage issues on the SoC if they log to the browser console repeatedly in a short period of time.
  • Opacity is not supported on Samsung platforms
  • Captioning is not supported on SoC platforms
  • File name lengths are shorter on SoC platforms. Long names can result in a failure to subscribe
  • Muting Sound mutes it only on internal speakers and not on line out
  • BrightSign Seris 3 and 4 play audio through HDMI and Audio Outputs simultaneously
  • Connection over HTTPS may fail when CMS certificates are updated. Update firmware for affected platforms to pick up new certificate authorities
  • Channel Audition does not support apps like Reserva, OMA
  • TPS Streaming – Radio Streams Are Incorrectly Considered As ‘TV’ Streams as stream type is not available
  • On LG webOS4.0+ platforms, application updates will fail unless Auto Set is set to Off using a remote control.

  • Tizen: “Scheduled screen off” keeps the screen turned off if reinstalling
  • SSSP5 – Videos are causing text jitter when video ends

  • Adjusted memory management so that users with heavy channel usage no longer experience slow down in other systems.
  • Fixed an issue that affected some browsers causing changes to be discarded when editing shared playlist items.
SOC:
  • Fixed an issue where expired licensing would cause the system to enter a failed state.
  • Fixed an issue where portrait video would not be disaplyed correctly on some BrightSign and LG hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where spaces in a file name in a soundtrack zone would be unplayable.
  • Multiple duplicate log messages will now become collapsed when displayed in the SoC OSD.
  • Fixed cropped video not cropping from the centre on Brightsign hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where a USB with less storage space than the internal memory of the SoC player was being selected as a valid external storage device for content instead of the internal storage space.
  • Fixed an issue where the install code would sometimes be forgotten upon restarting the SoC player on some LG hardware models (LG WebOS 2.0).
  • Fixed a playback issue when attempting to play a collection of image files with a duration of less than 2 seconds each.
  • Fixed automatic playback of videos in the preview player using Google Chrome browser.
  • Fixed a TLS 1.2 news feed download issue on some Samsung hardware models.
  • Fixed random playback if using a folder play item set to ‘play all items’.
  • Portrait video format handling improved on Brightsign hardware models.

  • Added a security feature to block brute force attacks based on IP addresses for repeated login failure (CSNC-2018-010).
  • The default access rights for the channels page have been changed so that users require the ‘manage channel’ permission setting to view the contents of the page.
  • Added an option for all HTTP traffic to be redirected to HTTPS.
  • Implemented unique Diffie-Hellman prime number generation (Logjam Attack).
SOC:
  • Improved security by adding the option to move authentication header from URL to HTTP header (CSNC-2018-007). If you are using Samsung SSSP2 or SSSP3 that do not allow authentication header to be set, please keep this option enabled in the security settings.

CMS:
  • Fixed PLI input in the Player Manager not displaying without a refresh of the page.
  • Fixed custom preview URI creation failure.
  • Fixed ONELAN Retail and ONELAN Education NTB units not reporting correctly to the CMS.
  • Improved file cache and garbage collection.
